Jab - Cross (1-2) a simple boxing combination. Keep your eyes at opponents chest and aim towards the v of the neck. Finish your punches - Jab returns to face before following up with your cross. To make the drill more advanced switch up head & body (1b-2 or 1-2b) , can also add in fakes. Defender can Block , Slip , Duck , Pivot , Side step , Step out or Shell depending on comfort level / prior knowledge
Double Jab - Cross (1-1-2) The double Jab forces person to have to defend the cross . This is a fast relaxed combo. Step towards opponent after each Jab to apply extra pressure if your opponent has the reach advantage. To make the combo more advanced you can mix up where you target the punch eg 1-1b-2. Defender can use a combination of Blocks , Slips , Rolls ,Ducks , Pivots , Side steps , Step outs or Shells depending on comfort level / prior knowledge
Jab-Cross-Hook (1-2-3) The jab, cross is used to tighten opponents guard. The closer to the face your opponent brings their hands or the more they forward shell the greater of an opening on the side for you to land your hook. The defender should work on proper blocking and hand distance for all 3 punches
Cross - Jab -Cross (2-1-2) Leading with a concealed cross catches your opponent off guard followed by a quick jab to distract and then followed with a solid power cross. To make the drill more advanced feint random crosses and then following up with Jab Cross. The defender needs to make sure their eyes look at opponents chest , has a good base and makes only small movements to block or move out
Jab - L Uppercut-L Body Hook (1-5-3b) Good for a pressure fighter aiming for the liver. The Jab, L Uppercut combo helps to narrow the guard creating the opportunity for a clean liver shot
